Ida Speyer Grøn

Ida Speyer Grøn (viola) trained with Professor Josef Kodousek and Professor Tim Frederiksen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where she made her debut in 1997. She has also taken a Graduate Diploma in Solo Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as a pupil of Wolfram Christ. She has been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and has toured a good deal with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. She is now a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, an ensemble that travels around the world under conductors including Nikolaus Harnoning court and Claudio Abbado. In addition she is an active chamber musician and a member of the string sextet Copenhagen Classic, the Hafnia Piano Quartet and the harp trio Madame Claude. Ida Speyer Grøn has appeared as a soloist with among other ensembles the Copenhagen Philharmonic and the Stockholm Chamber Orchestra. She has received the Jacob Gade Prize and the Aenchen and Egil Harby Foundation Travel Grant.
