Håkon Stene


Håkon Stene is a Norwegian percussionist specialized in contemporary music. He has studied in Oslo, Freiburg and San Diego with Rob Waring, Kjell Samkopf, Bernhard Wulff, Pascal Pons and Steven Schick among others. From 2005 to 2008 he was involved in Concert Norway’s launch programme INTRO for young soloists. Håkon Stene has performed throughout the world as a soloist and with many ensembles such as asamisimasa, Oslo Sinfonietta, London Sinfonietta, 2e2m, Klangforum Wien and Barokksolistene. He has recorded for several labels, Radio and TV and collaborated with composers such as Carola Bauckholt, Brian Ferneyhough, Johannes Kreidler, Helmut Lachenmann, Alvin Lucier, Kaija Saariaho, Simon Steen-Andersen and many others. Håkon Stene is currently involved in the Artistic Research Programme at the Norwegian Music Academy.
