Gurli Plesner made her debut in 1962 in Hans Werner Henze’s Elegy for Young Lovers at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, where she remained until her death at the forefront of her profession. Gurli Plesner was also a highly appreciated soloist, especially as an oratorio singer.
