Edith Guillaume made her debut from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen as a soloist in 1969. Her opera debut came at the Danish National Opera in Aarhus i 1970 and from 1974 until 1994 she was with the Royal Opera in Copenhagen. She has sung many leading roles in classical operas such as Carmen and Der Rosenkavalier, but is also well known for her performances in contemporary musical drama. Edith Guillaume has ap-peared in the premieres of a number of operas including The Metamorphoses of Orpheus, The Young Park and The Revenge of Truth by Ib Nørholm, Miss Julie by Antonio Bibalo, The Miserly Pig and Mirandolina by Yngve Jan Trede, Siddharta and Gilgamesh by Per Nørgård, Grinning at the Devil by James Wilson, The Last Virtuoso and Anatomical Opera by Lars Klit.
