Christian Christiansen

Christian Christiansen trained with Peer Birch in Århus. In 1993 he was engaged by the Royal Danish Opera, and he is frequently used as a soloist in both the serious roles and the basso buffo ones. Worth singling out from the more than thirty roles he has sung at the Royal Danish Opera are Colline in La Bohème, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, Bluebeard in Duke Bluebeard's Castle and Procida in The Sicilian Vespers. Over the years Christian Christiansen has collabotated very productively with all our regional orchestras and choirs. Christian Christiansen's recorded roles include Samuel in the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra's highly acclaimed version of Carl Nielsen's Saul and David, conducted by Neemi Järvi. In June 1995, Christian Christiansen guested at Maggio Musicale in Florence as King Charles in Schubert's Fierabras. In 1996 he is in the cast of the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra's CD recording of Carl Nielsen's Maskarade.
