More French Pieces
This album features two excellent Danish musicians in love with the luxuriant French repertoire of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Henrik Dam Thomsen (cello) and Ulrich Stærk (piano) explore the sensual miniatures of Gabriel Fauré, the melodious grace of Camille Saint-Saëns and the stylistic purity of Louis Vierne in beautiful contrast to the fragmented and virtuosic impressionism of Claude Debussy.
This CD is released in connection with the special album app "French Pieces", presenting the music together with music videos, bonus tracks and background essays about the music and composers.
