Knudåge Riisager's piano music is a kaleidoscopic world of its own. There are tongue-in-cheek pieces with a childlike feel side by side with serious modernism and warm late romanticism. The music is pervaded by the French fascination which Riisager found during his student years in Paris, and by the sense for dance and drama which made him a famous and cherised ballet composer.
