Niels Peter Jensen (1802-1846) is a fascinating figure from the Danish Golden Age. He was blind, but became an acknowledged flute virtuoso and obtained an offi cial post as a church organist. Jensen was a pupil of the famous composer Friedrich Kuhlau. He himself became a highly respected teacher, and his students included the Golden Age master J.P.E. Hartmann.
